Photo 2, Darkroom: Lauren Dickinson

These photographs are a selection from Lauren Dickinson's final portfolio in Darkroom Photography Two.  The series plays with abstraction, portraiture and landscape by creating a surreal world within the reflections of shop windows.  This is an old and much used theme in photography, but Lauren brings a new and fresh take to the idea.  We are transported to a landscape of fashion and design layered on itself both in front of and behind the glass.  Where we are taken through the looking glass to a commentary on our style conscious society.

Photo 2 Darkroom: Austin Parks

This is a selection from Austin Parks final portfolio in Darkroom Photography Two.  The images are in three groupings that work together.  The photographs pay attention to the grace and detail of their subject.  The series looks at and contrasts the similarities and differences in several pairs of feet.  While the overall idea is fairly simple, it is handled well.

Photo 2, Darkroom: Gabby Gelozin

The photographs below are a selection from Gabby Gelozin's final portfolio in Darkroom Photography Two.  While in this era of digital imagery double exposures and layered photographs are not surprising, all of these images were manipulated in the darkroom, except one.  Most were created by sandwiching negatives in the enlarger.  Some photographs have been created by multiple exposures of images to the same sheet of photographic paper.

The group of images below are interesting because by changing the image added to the portrait, Gabby was able to change the meaning of the photograph.  All of the six photographs utilize the same image of the figure with hands raised to the face, and then add different overlays.

Advanced Photography: Connor Brewer

This group of images are a selection from Connor Brewer's final portfolio in Advanced Photography.  The photographs are a wonderful group of portraits utilizing the drama of lighting and paint.  With her placement of the subject within the frame and hard lighting technique, Connor has explored an interesting style of portraiture.
